This is to notify you of an incident in Uganda. It has been escalated to UKJ, and their partners have informed us that Uganda imposed an internet shutdown starting on 13 January ahead of the elections. The MTN network service remains unavailable. However, on the second available network, Airtel, service was partially restored as of the 18th.

We are currently awaiting feedback from our partners regarding the expected timeframe for when these operators plan to fully restore data services.

MTN has advised that devices may need to perform a new network registration. As such, if any subscribers are still experiencing connectivity issues, we recommend rebooting the device to trigger a fresh registration.

Our provider has not yet received an official response from the operators regarding the earlier service disruption. However, based on recent signaling logs, we can confirm that both networks began showing activity from the 26th, with values largely returning to the levels observed prior to the issue.

If some susbcribers are still experiencing connectivity issues, we recommend rebooting the device, as this should trigger a new network registration and help restore service.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and share further updates should additional information become available.
